Green and gold

March 8th, 2012 by Paul

St. Patrick’s day is rolling around again, and we’re seeing people rediscover our Pot of Gold filler:

(Hmm, technically that should probably be “whom do you treasure” not “who do you treasure” - but, let’s face it, St. Patrick’s day is not reknowned for the quality of its grammar).

And there’s the ever-popular Chicago River dyer:

For those looking for bigger pictures, just remember to scroll down and click on “high resolution”.

MakeSweet Love

February 11th, 2012 by Paul

There’s plenty on MakeSweet for Valentine’s day. Check out our Valentine’s animations, including a heart locket, a love-shower of hearts against the sun, a fluttering butterfly, a gift box of love balloons, and now a new addition: two flowers in a field, blossoming in the sun.

The Valentine Flowers design is a pair of flowers in a field, opening in the sun. What’s inside? You decide.

Wrap it up for the holidays

December 10th, 2011 by Paul

New design for the holidays: an animated gift box pops open, out tumble a bundle of heart balloons, two of which have your photos or messages on them. Too sappy? Hey, we’re called “MakeSweet” for a reason. Heart lockets, heart sunsets, you can never have too many hearts, in our opinion.

This design adds to our collections of festive or romantic designs. Enjoy!

Animated flags, with your choice of background (including none)

November 17th, 2011 by Paul

Our animated flag generator is a hit, and we like the background in it (the sky as seen from a very pleasant seaside town in Italy, of which we have fond memories). People sometimes ask for a different background, or a blank background. We’ve just updated a version of the generator that lets you do just that:

For your own background, add a picture using the “+” button as usual, and drag it from the flag onto the background. For a blank background, well, you don’t have to do anything at all. Click here to get started on your own flag!

Happy new year 2012!

It seems a bit early to us too, but we were asked for this, so here goes: happy new year 2012! Click to make your own version of this animation. What good things do you see coming in 2012?

Halloween is rolling around again, that means it is time to carve that pumpkin with our online halloween pumpkin carver! If you need help figuring out how to use this widget, you can get the basic idea from MakeSweet, the Movie. For pumpkin-carving, you can carve text or silhouettes (black and white images work best). Enjoy!

Hang your stocking

December 8th, 2010 by Paul

Time to think about hanging a stocking on the mantelpiece. Here’s a design I made for my son:

And here’s how to do it, step-by-step, using the Christmas Stocking generator.

Thanks to Patrick Knobloch for his graphic skills!

Make your own billboard generator

September 10th, 2010 by Paul

MakeSweet has a lot of billboard scenes. But what if you want to create a new one? Or see what different photos would like like in a frame on your wall? That’s going to get a whole lot easier now, with our latest MakeSweet Designer.

Watch the demo video!

*update* Added an option to “screen out” the framed area, to hide anything already there in real life.

MakeSweet, the Movie

September 3rd, 2010 by Paul

We’ve posted a short video showing how to use MakeSweet to create animations. Specifically, we tackle the problem of how to make an animated heart showing our beloved cat and what they are thinking (hint: they are not happy - feed them). Suggestions for a sound-track are welcome :-). Lots of other animated possibilities here.
